We have a Vacancy on the committee, during normal times we are an active branch organising events on a monthly basis, if you are interested in joining our enthusiastic band and can spare time to organise and attend meetings and events please advise the branch secretary.
We will be participating in Joint Informal Meeting (J.I.M) lectures onboard HQS Wellington on Monday 2 March 2020 (starting at 17:30 for 18:15 lecture) as part of charitable maritime education.
All students, Members and Fellows of the Institute are invited to attend this lecture which will discuss ‘China’s Seaborne Trade’.
The speakers: Richard Scott FICS and Capt Michael Robarts FICS will focus on the ship types, cargoes and sea routes which fuel China’s economy.
Richard Scott FICS started his career as a dry cargo broker and has since spent the majority of his career as a shipping analyst. He is now also a lecturer at London City University on their MSc course and continues to research dry bulk trades.
Capt Michael Robarts FICS began his career at sea on a wide variety of ships before coming ashore into the ports sector and is also a Chartered Shipbroker.
The lecture is hosted by the joint group of these professional societies: Honourable Company of Master Mariners, Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers [London Branch], IMarEST, RINA, Royal Institute of Navigation, British Association of Cargo Surveyors and the Nautical Institute [London Branch].
